The face that once owned the record award collection of Vietnamese cinema returns with a completely different female lead role: The ambitious woman in the 85-episode TV series. Flower King (remake Korean script, premiere on VieON from April 17). Along with the movie Southern forest land and musical Sisters and sisters (IDECAF Stage)…

Back at the same time with 3 projects, all in the role of actors, it seems that Hong Anh’s 46 years old is still heavily indebted to her acting career, instead of becoming a film producer as she used to pursue?
It is true that I once embraced the determination to become a film producer, at that time thinking of joining a television station. I was so excited that as soon as I got married, I took my bag and went to Singapore to study. But then when I returned home and started working, I quickly realized that it was difficult for me to fit into the state-owned environment. Once founded his own film studio and produced his first movie The Race (both as a co-writer of the script), or like 3 years later as the director of the Island of the Inhabitants…, but so many trials. The energy on these new roles did not cool my passion for acting, even the opposite. At this stage, being able to act and be transformed into roles of different colors, for me is really a happiness. Returning to the studio as an actor in different film projects: TV series, movies, etc. also helps me to be regularly updated on the reels, the filmmaking process is more and more modern. , to ensure that his acting will not be old in those joint movements with his partner.

Especially successful with female roles with many losses, hidden memories but also considered more or less “one color”, in Sand life, Sleepwalking woman, Dark stairs, Mother’s soul, Moon at the bottom of the well… or the closest is Apple tree blooms…, Hong Anh gradually had the opportunity to “change color” with villains or different tones as in Blood moon party or now is Flower King. Do you consider it an adventure out of your league?
For a lot of people that’s supposed to be my way out of my “comfort zone”, but for those who know me well, it won’t surprise me with the different colors. As my husband often “jokes”: “Who doesn’t know her mother, is easily “tricked” by her appearance. The truth is behind the gentle, resigned look… as everyone used to see Hong Anh on the screen. I am actually a “super freak”, very extroverted and always attracted to experiential activities.I was even near impossible to be the woman of the family. family when they don’t like to stay at home, cook rice with a rice cooker but still live, no matter how much money they earn, they spend… change cars, Vespa buys 2-3 cars, all day long running on the street. change the spare tire, or as now still climb and repair light bulbs and things, scarred limbs are common.

Is there anything similar between Hong Anh and the character that used to be used to by default?
Also have. That is yielding and not losing. Often people won’t let go of anything, but sometimes it’s possible to happily suffer a loss. Come to think of it, who are the most loved roles on the screen, if not the ones who often suffer? They may be condemned or frustrated at times by resignation; but when it comes to protection, people will choose to protect the weak first.
What’s so good about being loved like that?
Pity is different from pity. Living with competition is exhausting.

Rarely, Southern actors, who were defaulted as “state actors” and always placed in the role of “trumps”, now switch to commercial films and “be” placed next to young faces. When you’ve been on this side of the slope of youth, have you ever felt “matched”, guilty?
No, because I always know where I am and what I need. I’m never afraid of supporting roles, because I always know how to transform to make myself different. Looking back at the video tapes when I was in my thirties, I noticed that I was always the one who was filmed the most, probably because of the sense of not letting myself get lost in the lineup. I’ve had that awareness since I was a kid. Be aware of the difference. Strive to be different. Blood moon party for example, oh my gosh, look at Kaity Nguyen, she’s so smooth, so young! And that is the value of novelty. Who has never had youth, and the unique energy of youth. As for me, at this age, my value is to create peace of mind for the director. The value of the experience.
Once tasted a billion-dollar loss named Racetrack when bringing money to bake, 10 years ago; Now look at the failures of Wolf Bar or the crisp victory of Madame Nu’s houseDoes the dream of setting foot on the “race track” of film production still emerge in you?
Although the race was at a heavy loss (invested more than 10 billion dong, earned less than 1/3), but looking back now, I personally still feel proud of my achievement, at least about the production process. its most professional output at the time. The mistake is probably because I have defined the wrong goal, between what I want and what the audience wants. The Wolf bar just now really reminded me of the fall of the Track 10 years ago. It is true that to tell a movie about the character’s “blackening” journey, it is not easy to find a meeting point with the crowd. If you want to make money, it should be family stories, related to the memories of the majority, rather than stories like Thanh Wolf or Race track want to tell. But to win like Mrs. Nu’s house, it can only be Tran Thanh. Although I always want to tell other stories (I still want to make an action movie until now), I still especially appreciate Tran Thanh in the way he is very sensitive, very life, has taken care of life. on screen as it is happening.

After the “tricks” both in the profession and in life, where is her main attitude in life, in her nearly 15-year-old marriage next to her successful and “notorious” husband?
Now I like being at home much more and appreciate more peace. Once I also asked Son (criticist, businessman Nguyen Thanh Son – PV): “Is it because Dad stayed with his mother for a long time because… his mother is pale?”, Son said: “No. Because he loves his mother”. I also never asked Son if… was he afraid of me, at any point. But I’m sure Son knows that rebellious blood in me, so that at any time, who knows, it could be a trigger. As for me, I like the way Son never stops learning, frankly, I’m still the type to admire my husband, because Son always has something for me to learn. And no matter what, living alone is still better than being alone.
Now I’m happy in the morning to take a bunch of cats and dogs to exercise (my family currently has up to 5 dogs and 5 cats, most of them are from rescue sources), then get in the car, take it to the company like people take their children to children, and then take them back at night… At bedtime, “the children” also remind “parents” well, not allowing them to use the phone. We moved to a rented house, with a garden, also to have a place for cats and dogs to run around. Many people think that if you don’t have children, you should raise cats and dogs for fun, no. Son and I both have a blood love for animals since childhood. For me, after the love of cinema, perhaps the love of cats and dogs.
It’s a bit selfish to say it, but cats and dogs are also a type of self-restraint, because it completely depends on me, not only coaxing, but also protecting me, and never betraying.

For Hong Anh, after the love of cinema is probably the love for cats and dogs – Photo: NVCC
If you could make a movie again, what story would you most like to tell right now?
The story of adultery, not necessarily on the negative side. I want to dissect why it is necessary to maintain that relationship…
Do you still believe in love now?
50 – 50. I believe in fate more. Love is there, but it’s not as beautiful as people think. But I believe in friendship.
Marriage, do you want it to have the charm and power of theater or cinema?
Cinema helps to hold onto youth, because it freezes the moment. But the stage can be redone. If so, I hope both.
