The Deputy Minister of Transport expressed dissatisfaction with the construction organization of some contractors that was not commensurate with the scale of the expressway project. Photo: CHAU ANH |
According to the investor, the objective reason is that the handover ground is not continuous, some locations accessing the construction road are still entangled in the ground; sand materials are scarce… However, the subjective reason is that the contractors have not actively mobilized equipment and materials for construction.
Through the actual inspection, the Deputy Minister of Transport expressed dissatisfaction with the construction organization of some contractors that was not commensurate with the scale of the work.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam, the Ministry of Transport has determined that the Can Tho – Ca Mau expressway project is a project with many difficulties both in terms of materials and geological conditions. Therefore, when selecting contractors, the Ministry has considered choosing units that are strong and experienced enough for construction. However, after nearly six months of construction, the overall output of the project is only about 3%, which is not acceptable.
“The investor is very impatient, but the project seems to be at a standstill. In this situation, it is very worrying that the goal of striving to reach 35% of the project value in 2023 cannot be completed. The current construction spirit is not the spirit of doing expressway projects that the units have committed before,” – Deputy Minister of Transport commented.
