At Thach Da temporary market (Go Vap), although the shops outside the market are temporarily closed, in the market, the vegetable and meat stalls still ensure the supply for the people here.
According to the survey, the prices of commodities remained stable, with no sign of increase compared to many previous days. For example, fruit and lychee are still sold for 30,000-40,000 VND/kg, plums are from 40,000 VND/kg, fragrant from 10,000/fruit, grade 2 oranges cost 25,000/kg. Or with leafy vegetables such as cruciferous vegetables, the price is still at a stable level of 10,000-15,000 VND/kg, items such as lemon are still at the price of 15,000-20,000/kg, ginger is 25,000/kg…
“Although, after the news of the spontaneous market suspension, the stalls of vegetables and fish outside the market were all closed, leaving buyers like us with little choice. But when entering the main markets, there are still many vegetables and fruits, and the price does not increase,” said Ms. Lan, a resident of Ward 9, Go Vap.
Also according to Ms. Hoang, a small trader selling in the area outside Thach Da market said: “When Ho Chi Minh City temporarily suspended the operation of the spontaneous market, I was very worried because the number of goods such as newly imported vegetables was still very much, now that it has to be closed, it means that all the above vegetables must be removed. I have to send small traders inside the market, accept to sell at a loss, or resell them. Others I go to Facebook to sell to friends and relatives, to clear inventory.”
Not only in traditional markets, but in supermarkets, goods still meet the shopping needs of people.
