On the evening of May 11, PV PLO.VN accompanied an interdisciplinary delegation to inspect and ensure urban order, road traffic safety and order in Can Tho city and recorded the “tricks” response of vehicle drivers when being measured alcohol concentration.

At about 20:20, at the intersection of Nguyen Hien – Nguyen Van Linh, the inter-sectoral delegation signaled to stop an administrative inspection vehicle, but this person continued to drive straight without stopping according to the signal.
When he saw the police, he stopped the car about 300 meters away. However, when the inter-agency delegation arrived, this person parked the car on the roadway and took out the car keys and left.
After campaigning, the vehicle driver agreed to give the car key, but did not get on the vehicle for the competent force to transport it to the checkpoint but continued to walk. The test results showed that this person had a measured breath alcohol concentration of 0.569 mg/l.
The functional force made a record of impounding the motorbike and driver’s license of this person, and sealed the vehicle because the violator did not take the items in the vehicle back.

Around 21 o’clock, in front of the Metro residential area, the interdisciplinary team checked and recorded a motorbike driver with a measured breath alcohol concentration of 0.792 mg/l.
While the functional force made a record, this person kept calling and said that he knew someone who worked as a ward police.
However, the interdisciplinary delegation still resolutely made a record and dealt with it strictly. Before signing the minutes of violation, this person also asked to have the alcohol concentration measured again for fear of inaccurate measurement. Even when he signed the violation minutes, he asked the traffic police: “Has anyone called you yet?”.
During the inspection on the evening of May 11, the interdisciplinary team recorded two more cases of vehicle drivers with measured blood alcohol levels higher than 0.4mg/l.
In which, there was a case of compliance with alcohol measurement, however, they did not agree to stay for the team to make a record. According to the violator, he explained that he was a health worker and had an urgent case, so he could not stay and wait.

According to Mr. Mai Minh Ngoan, Chief of the Office of Traffic Safety Committee of Can Tho City, in the past time, violations of alcohol concentration when driving vehicles in traffic are still quite complicated. From that fact, the City Traffic Safety Board has set up an interdisciplinary team to deal with it in order to contribute to curbing and preventing traffic accidents related to alcohol and beer.
“Through this inspection, the Board will continue to direct member agencies and functional forces from the city to localities to strengthen strictly handling violations of alcohol concentration. Besides, the interdisciplinary inspection team will also divide into many teams to conduct inspection and strictly handle in the coming time.
In particular, the army will patrol and control in key areas with high risk of traffic accidents, such as: Vo Nguyen Giap street, 3-2 road, 30-4 road, Nguyen Van Linh .. ” – Mr. Mai Minh Ngoan added.
The fine level of alcohol concentration when driving is specified in Decree 100/2019, as amended in Decree 123/2021 as follows:
