Not only pickpockets but also in large hospitals, there are “storks” taking medical examination numbers, “triggers” of ambulances, “triggers” of funeral services; collecting money for illegal parking… activities around cause insecurity and disorder.
According to District 5 Police, the situation of groups of subjects taking advantage of the loopholes of patients and sick people to engage in pickpocketing and property theft at hospitals is a painful problem. These people divide into groups, assign work and cover up, escape when someone finds out. Meanwhile, many victims did not report to the police or protect the hospital.

Not to mention, some medical staff and employees at the BV for various reasons involved in borrowing black credit, leading subjects to come to work at the BV, make phone calls to the board of directors, leaders of the hospitals, etc. The department threatens to affect the hospital’s reputation and image.
And yet, the situation of “triggers” of BV, traffickers encroaching on the roadside, illegal parking, fraud … in the area of BV also complicated developments, causing insecurity and disorder.
“This is a situation that is very concerned by the hospital’s leaders and has actively discussed with the district police to jointly propose many prevention and control solutions,” said Mr. Phe.
To eliminate the above incidents, in mid-October, the police and hospitals in District 5 signed a regulation on cooperation in ensuring security, order and social safety with the hospitals.

Dr. VO DUC CHIEN, Director of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital:
Help prevent in the first place
The police force with their colors will support the hospital (BV) to bring peace to each patient and medical staff. The signing between the hospital and the police for better coordination, support, and sharing of information and resources… with the goal of bringing safety and security to medical facilities.
Fraudsters always take advantage of patients who are caught off guard or leave their property indiscreet, and this requires good management of people entering the gate, relatives coming to take care of the patient. It is important to limit, filter and identify criminals before they commit crimes.
We really need the cooperation and support from the local police. For example, if I identify a suspect that I associate with the ward, I know it’s already on the list, and I can prevent what’s going to happen. This will give people peace of mind.
Ms. LE THI KIM SEN, resident of Binh Chanh district, HCMC:
Happy hospital, supportive people
My family has been scammed and lost several million dong. These guys came to see me, asked to borrow money to pay for hospital fees, after a while, my family would pay it right away.
In the hospital, seeing that the patient was very poor, no one had the heart to refuse, but after giving the money, he left.
Now sometimes the police appear in the hospital, people feel more secure. People who come to the hospital are already suffering, losing and being cheated is too pitiful.
Mrs. DO THI HIEN, resident of Binh Phuoc province:
Police, security constantly reminding
I have been visiting this hospital (Cho Ray Hospital) for many days and there is always a guard, the police remind people to take care of their personal belongings, people are very secure.
I haven’t seen anything complicated about security and order here for many days. I find this place a peaceful place for me to come to treat, take care of, visit and raise.
