As a journalist assigned to follow and deeply explore the VinFuture weekly series of events, I begin my work with the most objective attitude possible, establishing myself a sufficient distance to be able to observe more broadly. But then I myself got caught up in activities with excitement, and because of that, I felt the happiness that work brings.
The first thing that made me feel lucky was that I chose to interview Professor Dang Van Chi in-depth during the first media meeting of the members of the award committees. He is of Vietnamese origin but does not speak Vietnamese fluently, and there is very little Vietnamese information on the internet about him. But when I was able to talk to him, I felt it was “God loves me”.

He is a great scientist, admired and respected by his colleagues in the world, respected by the government where he lives and works, but his demeanor is simple, his expression is sincere. And it is important that he shows his original love sincerely, making anyone who has come in contact with him convinced.
Subsequent events, such as exchanges with the award committee, scientific seminars, etc., all showed the vision of the Program Organizing Committee: thorough in terms of content, modern in trends, and sufficient in terms of content. duration (with mass-oriented activities).
On the night of the award ceremony, many scientists wrote on their personal pages. The speciality of the ceremony was created not only by the top-notch performances, but first of all by the modest, humble but powerful sharing from the winners of the awards.
I still remember, when I sat down listening to the talks on the future topics of artificial intelligence, energy, health, etc., how excited I was when I shared the link with some young scientists. of related fields. As someone who has regular relationships with the scientific community in the country, I know they appreciate the value of such talks.
Just as young people love K-pop, scientists love famous scientists in their fields of expertise. I have witnessed the crowded halls of people sitting below listening attentively to Professor Ngo Bao Chau, although many of them admitted to listening but… did not understand anything. Over here (talks within the framework of the VinFuture Awards week) are contents that are extremely close to reality and are shared by some of the world’s best scientists in the field of human life. related area.
According to many veteran scientists, in order to create a thriving academic environment, lighting the flames of hope and spreading it, is one of the important starting factors. Usually outstanding scientists will be given this mission by the community. Vietnamese science, since Professor Ngo Bao Chau won the Fields Prize, there have been more and more sparks of hope that have been kindled through scientific activities that have gathered many world “stars” .
And now, the first season VinFuture award has rekindled a new spark of hope. The VinFuture International Prize can go beyond the limited existence of individual founders to truly become a Vietnamese Nobel Prize, representing the country and people of Vietnam.
The journey to the finish line is not easy. But if you have to take a step, you can only dream of reaching the destination…
