(PLO)- With the danger level of pitbull dogs and some other species, it’s time to take a “decision” from the competent authority on banning the breeding of fierce dogs, not just talking about it. .
Recently, a man in Da Nang was convicted of murder for intentionally letting a pitbull bite others. With the danger level of this dog and a number of other species, it is time to take a “decision” from the competent authority on banning the breeding of aggressive dogs, not just talking.
Keeping animals in the house is a habit and hobby of many people, and dogs are one of the most kept. There are many reasons people keep dogs, but for this to have the desired meaning, it requires owners to know which breed is suitable to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and those around them. around. On the contrary, if you do not study the psychological characteristics carefully, regardless of whether you choose to breed according to your personal preferences, it can lead to unpredictable consequences.

A good example is the pitbull, this is a dog with wild instincts and natural aggression, known as the most dangerous dog in the list of 10 most dangerous dog breeds for humans. The jaw muscles of this dog are very strong, helping it to bite and hold tightly, preventing the opponent from escaping.
This breed is highly territorial, attacking any opponent that comes into their area. In fact, there have been many cases of pitbull dogs attacking people, for example, in the US each year, there are about 10,000 cases of dogs attacking people; 59% of cases are caused by pitbull dogs, 82% of deaths are caused by pitbull dogs and half of the victims are children.
In Vietnam, statistics in recent years show that there have been many unfortunate incidents from this dog. For example, in Quang Nam, in January 2020, Mrs. NTH (79 years old) was walking on the street when suddenly a pitbull dog from a neighbor’s house slipped off her chain, fiercely rushed to bite her, causing severe injury to the victim. broken left forearm. In Binh Phuoc province, on July 22, 2022, an eight-year-old PNTT girl who went to her grandmother’s house to play was attacked, bitten by a pitbull and died from her injuries.
This ferocious dog not only attacks other people, but it also attacks the owner himself. It can be mentioned as the incident in Thanh Hoa on August 28, 2022, while feeding the family’s pitbull dog, Mrs. D (64 years old) was suddenly attacked by the dog, biting her body many times. D died after two days of treatment.
These incidents are testament to the potential danger from pitbull dogs and other fierce dogs. More frightening is that the fact that people take advantage of pitbull dogs to harm others also happens a lot, leading to being entangled in a labor cycle. Most recently, on June 20, the People’s Court of Da Nang City just sentenced TDT (47 years old) to 10 years in prison for murder, the reason being that T intentionally released a pitbull to bite people, causing 29% of injuries. Deadly consequences have not yet occurred, but according to the prosecution, the defendant knows that pitbulls are fierce dogs that can kill people, but still intentionally let the dogs continue to bite into many important areas of other people.
In order to prevent unfortunate incidents caused by pitbull dogs, many countries around the world have regulations banning people from raising this breed of dog such as France, Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, etc. Portugal, Malta, UK, Ireland, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, Israel, Singapore…
In Vietnam, there are also regulations on dog breeding, but it only stops at the management of dogs in general, such as wearing a muzzle for the dog or a leash to keep the dog, and someone to take it to public places. add…
These regulations can not guarantee that “dogs do not slip off the leash and then rush to bite the neighbor”, or that the dog owner loses his temper and turns them into “tools” to commit crimes… And once the consequences are injured. or death has occurred, no decision on administrative penalties, compensation decisions or even a criminal sentence can compensate for the loss that these wild dogs have caused. .
Therefore, let’s not talk anymore, it’s time for the State to take practical action, to make a list of fierce dogs to put on the list of banned family pets.
