On July 24, the Investigation Security Agency of Lam Dong Province Police said that it had prosecuted the accused and detained Duong Tuan Ngoc (38 years old, living in Quarter 3, Duc Hoa town, Duc Hoa district, Long An province).

Duong Tuan Ngoc was prosecuted to investigate the act of making, storing, spreading or propagating information, documents and items aimed at opposing the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Ngoc was arrested while temporarily staying in Hoan Kiem 3 village, Nam Ha commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province.

Information from Lam Dong Provincial Police, recently, Ngoc has posted and shared many articles and video clips on Facebook and Youtube social networking applications with content that distorts the actual situation, distorts, defames the people’s government, defames the regime, and insults the leader.

After collecting all documents and evidences related to Duong Tuan Ngoc’s crime, the Investigation Security Agency of Lam Dong Province Police issued a Decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and a detention order for Duong Tuan Ngoc for the crime of “making, storing, distributing or propagating information, documents and items to oppose the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” as stipulated in Article 117 of the Criminal Code 2015.
The procedural decisions have been approved by the People’s Procuracy of Lam Dong province.
