Traffic police temporarily seized 720 cars, nearly 74,000 motorbikes and 713 3 – 4 wheeled vehicles. . More than 211,000 cases of implementing sanctioning decisions with a total amount of nearly 370 billion VND. More than 11,500 cases were fined on the spot by traffic police with a total amount of more than 1.7 billion VND.
Through the work of grasping the situation on social networks, the City Traffic Police proactively detected and handled from the very beginning 4 cases of teenagers gathering and driving to cause public disorder.
According to the head of PC08, in the first six months of 2023, the whole city had 779 traffic accidents, killing 294 people and injuring 470 people. .
“Traffic accidents have dropped sharply by over 10%. The number of very serious traffic accidents has decreased by 40%. However, the traffic accident situation is still complicated, the number of accidents has ranged from serious to higher. The increase is still at a high level, accounting for over one-third of the cases, “said Colonel Tran Trung Hieu.
In the last 6 months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police will strengthen patrols to ensure social order and safety; preventing and combating illegal racing, handling the vehicle “mode” status; review and strengthen the thorough handling of passenger and cargo vehicles in violation of the Traffic Law.
