(PLO)- There are many cases where people do not borrow money, are not related to black credit groups, but still have debt collection by various forms of terrorism.
In the past time, although the police have continuously broken black credit cases, lending through the app and then collecting debts in a terrorist manner to people who have nothing to do with the loan, they have not been able to prevent this situation.
The Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City has warned about the case of not taking out loans from organizations and individuals, nor guaranteeing loans to others but being texted, called to collect debt, threatened, pressured, but still did not stop them. get this situation.
I borrowed, the whole family was terrorized
Mr. H (living in Ward 10, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) was constantly terrorized via phone, text, and call with very obscene debt collection content such as: “You buy (…) and stick it on the table. worship your father and son to cover your altar so that people won’t look at you and talk about your debt …”.
The callers came to claim to be KL Debt Trading Co., Ltd., asking Mr. H and his son (31 years old) to pay the amount of 56 million dong. Worried, Mr. H asked his son, and Mr. N said he did not borrow from KL Company.
Then a group of young people went to the front of the house and threw the debt collection inside. Next, Mr. H’s house was locked outside, locked his family inside and then painted.
A victim was texted to collect debt and posted pictures on social networks for borrowing through the app.
Mr. H presented a debt collection note that the two youths threw at his house with the content: “KL Debt Trading Co., Ltd. informed Mr. LTN and his family to arrange money to pay off the debt to avoid inconvenience. unworthy. If you do not cooperate, we will use all professional measures to be able to collect the debt. Any delay or evasion is useless and we will consider it a provocation. Debtor escapes – relatives pay” – the debt collection notice reads.
According to the phone number written on the paper, Mr. N called the phone and was informed by the end of the line that he had bought back the bank’s debt.
When Mr. N informed him that his house had been sprayed with paint, the other end of the line said: “I have already sent you a letter. You’re greasy… you don’t pay right. You pay me, or I’ll let you break.”
Mr. N said that about a year ago, he had a credit loan of 22 million VND from a bank and was late in payment due to the epidemic and difficult life. Mr. N also said that he contacted the bank to explain his situation and asked for a delay in paying the loan interest.
The police side of Ward 10, Tan Binh District said that they would check, handle and recommend that if there is an incident related to the security and order situation, people should go to the police to report.
Many residents have also complained to Ho Chi Minh City Law about terrorism, asking to pay even though he didn’t borrow from loan apps.
Ms. L (living in Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City) fell into a situation of crying and laughing due to curiosity.
Accordingly, seeing many apps, she tried to access one app. After providing the phone number, ID card, taking a photo of the front and back of the ID card, agency name, and home address, she stopped because the loan amount was too low but the interest rate and fees were too high.
About 30 minutes later, she received a text message: “Congratulations on receiving your loan limit. Complete the application to receive the loan”. Thinking that was over, who would have thought that every month she would receive a debt reminder call.
According to Ms. L, nearly half a year of being persecuted with no way to prevent other than blocking the number. “But it’s strange that when I block this number, another number pops up and calls at any time of the day” – Ms. L said and said that after her relatives called back, they were blocked, no. can contact.
Ever reflected with Ho Chi Minh City LawMr. DVT (36 years old, living in Chau Doc City, An Giang) said that for a long time he and his family members were constantly terrorized, threatened with calls, messages and comments “scam warning” property appropriation” on social networks.
According to Mr. T, because his wife borrowed money from apps. In the process of applying for a loan, you must provide contacts and social network accounts. Therefore, the staff of the loan application have grasped all the information. Due to the mother’s interest, the child’s interest cannot be paid, so relatives are constantly being persecuted and demanded for debt.
An employee who used to work at a loan app admitted that when the creditor did not pay, the employees would text and call to ask for money, then launched a terrorist attack by “spaming” via phone, accounts. social networks (Facebook, Zalo, Viber …) of relatives, friends, phone book of the borrower regardless of day and night.
Faced with the situation of people who do not borrow but are disturbed, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City has coordinated with the City Police to focus on handling.
Recently, talking with Ho Chi Minh City Law, a representative of the Department of Information and Communications recommends that individuals who are harassed should save phone numbers, information, and pictures of messages with threatening, debt reminders and debt collection content. Then enclose the document to the debt-lending organization or individual to complain about the debt reminder and debt collection measures against the person who is not obliged to repay the debt.
At the same time, send an application with evidence to the branch of the State Bank to propose settlement of violations in the banking sector or send a report or denunciation to the police agency, the Department of Information and Communications.
From there, the functional forces have a basis to intervene and handle. It is necessary to avoid the psychology of fear, compromise, let go, and create conditions for the subjects to continue this illegal behavior.
