(PLO)- There should be standards, economic and technical norms related to friendly building materials and specific criteria for green buildings.
The price storm of traditional construction materials such as iron and steel, bricks, paint… has helped promote the trend of using new materials instead. New materials with many conveniences and reasonable prices such as nano wall panels, panels, tunnel bricks, aluminum against sea salt corrosion, ecological paints… are increasingly being chosen by contractors.
Fast construction materials attract customers
The current trend of designing houses or large projects is to choose materials that are light, beautiful, convenient, easy to replace and reasonably priced.
Instead of conventional bricks and corrugated iron, the factories and warehouses of many enterprises (DN) now use panels. This is a new industrial material, super light in weight, has good sound and heat insulation compared to other materials, while ensuring the criteria of progress, aesthetics as well as economic performance.
The panel is a flat wall panel with a three-layer structure, including an outer galvanized sheet; the middle layer is insulation, fireproof; sound insulation such as EPS, PU, mineral…; the innermost layer is galvanized sheet or foil.
The panels are light in weight, easy to join together without external adhesives, the size can be customized according to the investor’s requirements. This new material is gradually replacing the traditional building materials in the construction field, namely building walls, outer walls, covering walls for factories, roofs, warehouses, clean rooms or rooms. cold.

Mr. Le Van Toi, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Association of Building Materials (VN), said that many businesses have invested in this new material. In the North alone, more than 30 enterprises have invested in panel production lines and there are about 20 enterprises with relatively large scale in construction and installation of panels to meet the great demand of the market.
“This material is suitable for Vietnamese climate conditions with good sound and heat insulation. In addition, this material also helps to save energy and prevent fires. The panel does not wear out, is waterproof, does not attract termites, cockroaches, ants or other insects and reduces greenhouse gas emissions,” said Mr. Toi.
Talking about another new material, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, Sales Director of Trung Chinh Import-Export Co., Ltd – the supplier of MAXPRO.JP aluminum bars, said that now aluminum and glass products are starting to appear widely. widely and become familiar in the market of building materials in Vietnam. Aluminum and glass doors are a material that can be used for both large buildings and individual housing projects.
In the construction industry, the application of aluminum to aluminum and glass walls and exterior facades is becoming a new trend thanks to the advantages of this material. Aluminum has a relatively light specific weight, making it easier to install and move. According to Mr. Thu, with the same bearing capacity, the weight of an aluminum plate is half to 2/3 of the weight of a steel plate and seven times smaller than that of reinforced concrete. This reduces the weight of the work, optimizes safety during construction.
“The surface of the aluminum bar is treated with Anodie ED technology (Japan) to help the aluminum bar have a hard and color fastness of over 40 years. In particular, the above treatment method also helps aluminum bars not to be oxidized in environments with high salt vapor such as in coastal resorts … but still ensures the criteria to limit heavy metals “- Mr. Thu said.
Similarly, nano-panel is also gradually replacing traditional construction materials such as paint, wall tiles, plaster, and lafon thanks to its toughness, durability, moisture resistance, waterproofing, and heat resistance. , fireproof, good soundproofing, high aesthetics. The cost of this type is cheaper than natural stone with similar colors, saving construction and installation costs. Thanks to its light weight, it can be applied in high areas while still being safe.
A representative of Sacohome Company said that nano-panel was the product that received many orders in the second half of this year when the price of traditional building materials increased. Nano panels can be used for walls, ceilings, etc., which are more durable and beautiful than tile, paint or plaster, so they are chosen by many hotel and restaurant owners.
According to the representative of this company, the new type of plastic material with the main component of primary plastic, stone powder additives and produced by a high-tech process, can be recycled, contributing to reducing environmental pollution compared to other plastic materials. other plastic materials.
Need standards for light, green materials
Currently, the standards of some new building materials are not available in Vietnam, so many companies want to be supported by the authorities to make the standards popular in the country.
Mr. Le Van Toi proposed that it is necessary to create a legal corridor, giving specific regulations on standardization and standardization of lightweight construction materials, unburnt green materials and environmental friendliness.

Regarding solutions to promote the production and use of friendly building materials, Mr. Toi said that the State needs to specify in legal documents on preferential policies and support for manufacturing enterprises. At the same time, it is necessary to be more consistent and drastic, assign responsibilities to localities, inspect and reward localities that do well, and criticize localities that do not perform well.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, new ultra-light materials are being widely applied in many countries around the world, from interior and exterior construction to office decoration, large projects… However, the application New construction materials, light materials like in Vietnam are not yet popular. It is difficult for new materials to break into the current building materials market due to many reasons. In which, first of all lies in the fear of change and the benefits of the production of old materials are affected when replacing.
In addition, the current legal system for new materials has not been completed, reducing the spread of new, green and clean technological materials.
Mr. Thu said that it is necessary to have policies to encourage urban projects, large-scale infrastructure works, public investment projects, etc. to use new products to save costs, shorten construction time and save money. energy saving. Along with that, propagandize and encourage people to use lightweight materials in the construction process.

Need vocational courses using lightweight materials
In order to promote the use of new and green building materials, training schools must have curricula at specialized construction schools on design and construction using light and new materials that are environmentally friendly. environment. At the same time, there are policies to encourage and support vocational schools and centers to open short-term technical training courses for workers using light and green materials.

Assoc LONG DUC LONG, Vice President of Vietnam Cement Association:
Digital transformation of building materials production
The building materials industry is playing an important role in the economy, contributing about 6.5%-7% to Vietnam’s GDP. To improve the competitiveness of new building material products, manufacturing enterprises need to apply the achievements of the fourth industrial revolution, in which digital transformation is a factor that cannot be overlooked.
To implement digital transformation, businesses need to transfer all information and data related to businesses, from mining, supply of materials, spare parts, production, logistics, sales, management, control. Operations, planning, organization, personnel… into digital signals that computers can read, store, manage, process, and transfer from one place to another through an Internet connection.
