
(PLO)- The arrival of President Vo Van Thuong to the UK to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marks the special friendship relationship between the two countries.
At the invitation of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on the morning of May 4, President Vo Van Thuong led the Vietnamese delegation to leave Hanoi to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III in the United Kingdom.
The visit of the President this time is a very important high-level foreign policy activity, affirming the position and role of our country in the region and in the world.

The trip aims to continue implementing the foreign policy of the 13th Party Congress on comprehensive and extensive international integration and Directive 25 of the Secretariat on promoting and elevating multilateral external relations.
The State President’s attendance at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III shows Vietnam’s respect for the British Royal Family and the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long, this is the second visit of our President to the UK after nearly two decades, in the context that the relationship between Vietnam and the UK is at the best stage of development ever.
In particular, in 2023, the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with many meaningful, rich and exciting activities in many regions throughout Vietnam and the UK.
Accompanying the President in this foreign business trip were Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long; Vice President of the Office of the President Phan Thi Kim Oanh; Assistant to President Duong Quoc Hung and leaders of a number of ministries and branches.
Mr. Mark Kent, Chairman of the UK-Vietnam Friendship Network (VUKN), said that President Vo Van Thuong’s arrival in the UK to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla marks a particularly close friendship between the two countries.
He also said that VUKN is very pleased and honored to welcome the visit of President Vo Van Thuong.
