Mr. Dat is currently the Secretary of the Youth Union of Thong Nhat hamlet, Vinh Hau commune, Hoa Binh district (Bac Lieu). Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc The (26 years old, Mr. Dat’s wife) said that around 8 pm on 6/5, Mr. Dat rode his motorbike to buy food for his daughter near the house. Due to the dark, heavy rain, roads and sewers under construction, Mr. Dat unfortunately collapsed, leading to many serious injuries.
Mr. Dat gradually recovered but needed money for long-term treatment
Mr. Dat’s family took him to Bac Lieu General Hospital for treatment. According to the doctor’s diagnosis, he had brain hemorrhage, skull fracture, lung contusion, liver contusion, two broken ribs, broken cheekbone. Initially, his health was very weak, he had to be on a ventilator, when he was awake, when he was in a coma. After many days of treatment at Bac Lieu General Hospital and Can Tho Central General Hospital, his health is gradually recovering, he can talk, but only lies in one place. He still has many wounds on his head, ribs, cheekbones… that have not yet healed, and have to be treated for a long time.
According to Ms. The, Mr. Dat’s health is now better than before, he was sent home by the hospital but still very weak and continues to monitor and treat. Due to his difficult circumstances, the cost of his treatment was beyond the family’s means. Mr. Dat is the breadwinner in the family, his wife has no job, just stays at home to look after her 6-year-old daughter and looks after a natural shrimp pond rented by the family in the protection forest. Dat and his wife live in a makeshift house in the coastal area of Bac Lieu.
