Thanh could have grown up healthy and normal like many other people, if he hadn’t had a traffic accident at the age of 13 that caused him to suffer a spinal injury, his legs were permanently incapacitated. At that age, even though he was sad because he couldn’t run, jump and have fun like his peers, he still believed his parents’ comfort, saying: “When I grow up, I’ll be fine!”.
At the age of twenties, he began to realize all the disadvantages of his life when he could not move with his legs and also knew that his legs could never be healed. But the boy also gradually accepted to live with that and found a way to adapt. He tries to do all the work in life and daily activities by himself, limiting having to rely on relatives or people around him.
At the age of 25, he had a chance to meet Bich, a healthy girl working as a maid. At first sight, he fell in love with her, but she did not agree to know him, partly because of her lack of legs.
“I didn’t give up! She returned to Tuyen Quang’s hometown, I decided to stay at a relative’s house who lived there, then every day I went over to Bich’s house to play, like that for 3 months. “I’m 43 kg, he’s 70 kg. At first, I couldn’t carry him. But gradually, I knew how to carry and how, so I got used to it. Now it’s easier for me to carry him,” she smiled gently, confiding.
After 8 years of marriage, besides the love that is gradually being cultivated over time, it is the 2 sons (6 years old and 5 years old) who are the bond that connects the couple’s love and marriage more and more strongly. Currently, he stays at home to take care of the housework, while her sister works as a maid to support her life. Sometimes, they still have to rely on the economic support of the two families.
