“We have the same feeling, very emotional, emotional,” he said. Over a very long time since 1990, Ho Chi Minh City has organized delegations to visit the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago. Every year, Truong Sa has a change. However, there are still many difficulties there: places without electricity, lack of fresh water…; basic and persistent difficulties – despite the availability of wind power and solar power”.
“And I go to see where there are people who accept suffering and sacrifice to make me happy on the mainland. The summary of the trip’s journey will open up new thoughts for the members, so that we can ask ourselves what we will do for life and for the development of society,” shared Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai.

According to the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City are always aware of protecting the homeland’s sea and islands, the frontline of the Fatherland is one of the key tasks of the rear of Ho Chi Minh City and need to do more to support officials, soldiers and people in the island areas to work safely. At the same time, localities should have a connection with Regions 2 and 4 to have friendship bonds, organize more trips to visit Truong Sa, not only provide one-time support but need to regularly take care of and support the lives of soldiers.
“Personally, after 10 years going back to the islands, I have to say I am very emotional. When I returned to Truong Sa this time, I saw great changes in the sea and islands, such as in Truong Sa Lon island, the green color of the square and maple trees were covered. Thereby, we can see the great investment and concern of the Party, the Ministry of National Defense as well as the provinces and cities across the country that have supported the homeland’s sea and islands, the frontline of the Fatherland…”, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai also shared: “I also saw a change in the lives of cadres, soldiers and people. I think I will try to do my best at the tasks assigned by the Party and State to partly contribute to the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City in building support for the beloved Truong Sa.”
“I also have a little bit of thought, mixed with sadness when passing through the island points that we are illegally occupied by foreign countries. I personally think that I will try to maintain peace and stability, but somehow so that we do not lose an inch of land, an inch of dear sea that our fathers have won. I think this is the common sentiment of the whole Vietnamese nation, of the heroic people. And we will definitely do it,” Hai emphasized.

According to Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, the 9th – Ho Chi Minh City delegation this time only had about 200 delegates attending. However, they represent more than 10 million hearts of the people of Ho Chi Minh City to the army and people of Truong Sa island district and the DK1 rig.
Ms. Chau thanked the leaders of the Party and State, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, officers and soldiers for overcoming difficulties to carry out their tasks.

“We will report to the people of Ho Chi Minh City, implement many measures to propagate to the people, towards the homeland, towards the frontline of the Fatherland to support cadres and soldiers. That will contribute to encouraging officers and soldiers to always be sure of their guns, have confidence, and defend the border of the Fatherland,” said Ms. To Thi Bich Chau.

Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee also shared that the whole delegation had spent days at sea and there, each person had an emotion. In short, everyone has a heart, a great responsibility to the sea and island. Everyone wants to contribute with all their enthusiasm in their field and profession.
“Like Song Tu Tay Island, last year’s storm Rai destroyed a lot of trees on the island. However, now when I look back, I see a new joy and emotion, when I see the trees cut by that storm, sprouting green sprouts again. We can see the vitality of the island even though the weather and storms are harsh, affecting the lives of the army and people,” said Ms. Phan Thi Thang.

Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee also shared: “We bring joy, exchanges and spiritual encouragement to officers and soldiers on the island. And through this, we will see that in addition to supporting, visiting, encouraging, and loving, we also have a responsibility to help cadres, soldiers and people on the island have a better life.”
“Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is very interested in three areas: energy, how to handle and supply electricity to ensure the activities of Truong Sa; water treatment to take advantage of the surrounding water source to have sufficient conditions to ensure the military and civilian population; garbage handling. In the coming time, we will continue to research and combine the navy to find a solution, with the goal of serving the people’s cadres and soldiers on the island and the farthest goal of protecting the sea and islands of the homeland’s sovereignty,” Thang stated.
