The atmosphere of the 2023 Women’s World Cup finals has begun to heat up, when there are only a few days left before the biggest soccer tournament on the planet for women will officially kick off. At the moment, all the teams are present in the two host countries, Australia and New Zealand, to prepare to enter the journey to conquer the world gold cup.
In particular, the Vietnamese women’s team is also in the final stages of completion. Huynh Nhu and his teammates will have nearly 1 more week of practice before starting the match. Since being present in New Zealand (July 7), coach Mai Duc Chung’s team has experienced 2 friendly matches, against hosts New Zealand and Spain respectively.
Confronted with much better teams, the Vietnamese women’s team, despite their best efforts, could not avoid losing. However, the most important thing is that the Vietnamese girls and the coaching staff have accumulated more experience and learned many valuable lessons to enter the tournament.

Match schedule of the Vietnamese women’s team at the 2023 World Cup
At the 2023 Women’s World Cup finals, coach Mai Duc Chung’s team was arranged to compete in a very strange time frame, respectively 8:00, 2:30 and 14:00 (local time). Besides, the climate in New Zealand is often rainy and cold. It can be seen that the time frame and climate at the World Cup is very strange to what Vietnamese girls have experienced before, when they often compete in the afternoon (or evening) and the weather in Vietnam is very different. The south is hot and humid.
Against this background, the Vietnamese women’s team was arranged to go to Europe for training (Germany, Poland) and to New Zealand quite early to get used to the climate. Besides, the friendly matches are arranged to be played at the same time frame as the official matches of the tournament. Specifically, the match of the Vietnamese women’s team against Spain took place at 7:30 (local time). Therefore, the Vietnamese female players were able to gradually adapt to the conditions of competition in New Zealand.
