When investigating the scene, the investigative agency determined that thieves often broke in by prying open emergency exits and ventilation doors. There were two burglaries, the thief broke the safe of the owner to take the property inside.

During his stay in Da Nang, this person rented a motorbike to go everywhere but did not go to a tourist destination, did not go to a relative’s house or a specific address. This suspect stayed at many different motels and gave a false name but did not present his identification with the reason that he had lost his documents, only staying for a few hours. The length of stay at the motels is also very short and not fixed.
The scouts found that this person lived in a rented house in Hue City, had a previous conviction for property theft, and had just been released from prison in 2022. In the process of tracking, the scouts faced many difficulties because the suspect was very smart. en, always be on guard. When entering Da Nang, the suspect stayed at this motel but rented a car from another motel to travel.
Before committing the crime, the suspect left the car in a place far from the house of the “prey” and then walked around different intersections to approach and take action.
After understanding the operation rules of the suspect and the evidence, on March 29, the scouts planned to dress up and make an emergency arrest when Nguyen Van Long was on his way to consume the stolen property.
At the time of the arrest, the police seized many exhibits such as a gold chain, 20 million dong in cash, and eight bottles of foreign wine. This is the property that this suspect stole at a house on Phu Loc 10, Thanh Khe Tay ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city.
Long said, within just over a month, he broke into five houses to steal property with a total value of about 1 billion VND. He only breaks into a house that is big and beautiful because there will be many valuable properties inside. At the same time, thefts are only carried out on weekends because the homeowner goes to his hometown to visit relatives or go on a trip, no one is watching.
