At the meeting, Minister Ho Duc Phuc emphasized that Vietnam highly appreciates the support of the Kingdom of Belgium in the past time and looks forward to continuing cooperation in the near future in areas where the Kingdom of Belgium has strengths. .
Regarding the Belgian Government’s ODA to Vietnam, the Minister suggested that the Belgian Government strengthen the method of direct budget support and give the initiative to the aid recipient.
Vietnam supports and is actively researching and developing a global minimum tax policy for early application.
Information on green finance at the meeting, Minister Ho Duc Phuc said that to address green growth, climate change and sustainable development, the Government of Vietnam has issued documents and regulations on green finance. comprehensive national and sectoral policy directions.
On that basis, Vietnam’s finance industry has actively implemented solutions to enhance access to green finance for entities in the economy to invest, expand production and business activities in the direction of green finance. sustainable, positive impact on the environment.
According to Minister Ho Duc Phuc, developing the green bond market is one of the tasks in the bond market development roadmap for the 2017-2020 period, with a vision to 2030.
In the past time, the Ministry of Finance has cooperated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and international donors to complete the legal framework for the issuance of green government bonds, green local government bonds, green bonds, etc. green enterprises from law level to decree.
“Vietnam’s green bond market is in the early stages of completing the legal framework, as well as implementing pilot issuance projects, so the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam is looking forward to the Belgian Ministry of Finance to share experience on this content”, emphasized Minister Ho Duc Phuc.
Speaking at the meeting, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peterghem said that he would ask specialized agencies to continue to research, coordinate and support Vietnam in the implementation in the near future. .
Regarding the issue of ODA loans and ODA for Vietnam, the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Government of this country is making policy changes to continue implementing and hopes the proposals from Vietnam will soon be removed.
Sharing at the end of the working session, Minister Ho Duc Phuc said that the Vietnamese financial market still has a lot of potential for development, so the Minister believes that in the future the two sides will have many activities to strengthen cooperation. moreover, contributing to promoting the financial relationship between the two countries.
