The report is not objective
Earlier, on March 20, the US State Department announced Human rights annual report 2022arguing that some Asian countries including Vietnam have systematically violated human rights.

Commenting on this report, Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang expressed that the protection and promotion of human rights is a consistent policy of Vietnam.
“Vietnam regrets that the US State Department’s 2022 annual human rights report made some unbiased judgments based on inaccurate information about the actual situation in Vietnam” – Deputy Director General of the Department of Human Rights. Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
Ms. Hang affirmed that Vietnam’s consistent policy is to protect and promote human rights. “Basic human rights are enshrined in the Constitution of Vietnam, protected and promoted by legal documents and implemented in practice,” Hang said.
The Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Vietnam always considers people as the center, the driving force of the renovation process and the development of the country, striving to improve the people’s living standards and enjoyment rights, as well as leaving no one behind.

The relationship between Vietnam and the US has developed deeply
Answering a reporter’s question about the future development of the relationship between Vietnam and the US, Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated: After 10 years of establishment, the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US has developed extensively, effectively and substantively on three aspects including bilateral, regional and international. The two countries maintain contact, dialogue and delegation exchange activities at all levels and sectors, especially high-level visits.

Pham Thu Hang also informed that the US became the first export market of Vietnam to surpass the 100 billion USD mark and Vietnam became the 8th trading partner of the US. US foreign direct investment in Vietnam reached 11.4 billion USD, the US is currently ranked 11th among the countries investing directly in Vietnam and American businesses continue to promote investment in Vietnam. The US continues to cooperate with Vietnam in dealing with war consequences, improving law enforcement capabilities at sea, and participating in UN peacekeeping operations.
