Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, has just issued a written request to departments and branches to perform a number of key tasks in the second quarter of 2022 according to the conclusion of the 7th City Party Committee meeting (taken at the end of April).
Conclusion No. 181, signed by Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, requires the City People’s Committee to perform many important tasks in order to achieve strong economic recovery steps after the “running momentum” period in the first quarter. Especially when the second quarter falls at the right summer time, which is favorable for tourism development.
Specifically, the People’s Committee of Da Nang City has just directed the functional sector to continue to review and forecast scenarios and have drastic solutions to promote the city’s economic development, especially for key economic sectors and make great contributions to the city’s GRDP growth, including: accommodation and catering services; warehouse transportation; manufacturing and processing industry; information and communication; financial, banking and insurance activities; real estate business.
For the tourism industry, the City People’s Committee requires the effective implementation of the plan to restore tourism activities in the city. In the coming June, the project on orientations for tourism development in Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045, will be issued.
The City People’s Committee directs the tourism industry to diversify and characterize tourism products. In the immediate future, well implement stimulus programs to attract domestic tourists in 2022, especially summer tourism; carefully prepare the necessary conditions to successfully organize the 2022 Asian Flight Forum, the 2022 Asian Development Golf Tournament; opening a pilot model of My An night beach combined with activities in An Thuong tourist area; effectively operate and exploit the CT15 wharf, exploit the CT15 – Bai Da inland waterway route, and the Da Nang – Ly Son route; implementing a pilot plan to manage water entertainment activities.
In addition to the drastic implementation of the tasks, the People’s Committee of Da Nang City also requires the industries to choose dynamic, key and large-scale projects to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up procedures, clearly defining the implementation roadmap, responsibilities, time schedule at each agency, unit, and locality, and assessing and reviewing responsibilities in each progress and roadmap.
In 2022, there are many projects striving to be completed, such as: the western ring road, section of National Highway 14B to Ho Chi Minh Road, DH2 road, DT601 route, Tuyen Son – Tuy Loan riverside road, Software Park No. 2, wastewater treatment and collection works… Group of works striving to start construction in 2022, including: investment project to build Lien Chieu Wharf; Lang Van resort and entertainment complex, the complex of works serving the International Fireworks Festival (items, shooting points), new industrial zones (Hoa Ninh, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Cam – phase 2, Hoa Xuan Sports Complex…). In addition, there is a group of projects implementing auctions of land use rights and bidding for projects using land in 2022 to focus resources for implementation and urge implementation.
Under the direction of Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, in the coming June, the functional sector needs to successfully organize the Danang Investment Forum; continue to effectively implement the project of promoting investment attraction into the city in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 and the overall project of economic diplomacy in the city in the period of 2021-2025; focus on attracting investment selectively through online investment promotion forums and conferences with key markets and countries that have policies to shift investment capital flows, associating investment attraction with ensuring national defense – security and environmental protection.
Notably, Da Nang City will develop a project to call and promote large enterprises and corporations to invest in new industrial parks (Hoa Cam – phase 2, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Ninh) and Da Nang Hi-tech Park Support Industrial Park.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee also requested to strongly improve the investment and business environment, reform administrative procedures, promote digital transformation, and create favorable conditions for enterprises to conduct production and business activities.
One of the key tasks of economic development is that, Da Nang City has determined to actively coordinate with working groups of the Prime Minister to examine, review and propose to solve and remove obstacles and difficulties in the process of implementing inspection conclusions and judgments.
