Will complete and open the National Highway 1A upgrade project in May 2023

On April 28, the Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Transport) said that up to now, the value of construction and installation output of the whole project of upgrading and renovating National Highway 1A, the section through Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, reached more than 93%. In which, only the XL04 package has reached just over 82%, the remaining three packages have been basically completed and are currently in the finishing stage.

Package XL04 is constructed by Dinh An Group Company Limited and Nghe An Construction Corporation Joint Stock Company (subcontractor). According to Project Management Board 7 (project investor), the construction progress of Nghe An Company has met the plan according to the adjusted schedule.

As for the construction progress of Dinh An Company is still slow, the reason is that it cannot mobilize finance to carry out the construction, unable to meet the completion schedule until April 30. Another reason is that until the beginning of April 2023, the construction unit received the remaining ground for construction.

Also according to the Project Management Board 7, contractors are currently focusing on financial and human resources to build the roller. Accordingly, when completed, plastic carpets will be installed, traffic safety signs will be installed there, efforts will be made to complete the project and open to traffic on May 19.

The project of upgrading and renovating National Highway 1A has a total length of nearly 20km, with a total investment of more than 1,680 billion VND, invested by Project Management Board 7. In particular, the section through Hau Giang province has a length of nearly 9 km, and the section through Soc Trang province is nearly 11 km. The project started at the end of December 2021, at that time, the investor expected the construction to be completed in 12 months.

During the construction process, because the project was behind schedule, the investor asked for an extension. Specifically, by the end of April 2023, will basically complete the expansion of bridges, access roads and traffic safety system on the route. By the end of June, 2023, the project will be completed and handed over to put into operation and finalization.
